WHS Scholarships and Awards

The Wisconsin Histology Society has money for you!! Are you in need of CEU credits? Have you ever been to a State Histology meeting? Do you like to travel? Are you or someone in your lab a histology student?

Consider a WHS scholarship! You can use these funds to obtain CEU credits; attend a State or National meeting, or if a student, there is a scholarship for you.

Take a look at the 3 scholarships we offer and apply or nominate someone you know in the field.

The application submission deadline is April 1 of each year. All scholarships are awarded at the annual Tri-State Meeting.

WHS Scholarship Criteria

Mission Statement: The purpose of the WHS is to educate and provide information to others, advance the field of Histotechnology, professional growth, and have a forum to share scientific and technical expertise. The awards are open to the membership and recognize commitment to education, hard work and dedication in our field. Scholarships are a part of professional development. The WHS awards committee consists of the vice president as chairperson, the immediate past vice president, with other current members as recruited.

General Nomination Policy: Nominations for an award should be made to the chairperson of the Awards Committee via email. Nominations should be accompanied by a statement from the nominee or nominator with other supporting material, such as letters of recommendation from pathologist, supervisor, WHS officers or chairperson, or members of WHS. The Award Committee reserves the right not to make an award in any given year. The committee also reserves the right to give more than one award in any category or give an established award (that has not been applied for) to a working professional.

Nominations and accompanying documentation can be emailed to Brandon Ward at bedubya84@aol.com.
