Joan Junk Student Scholarship 


$350 cash award

  • This award is intended to support members working toward histotechnology certification or an additional certification/qualification examination for furthering professional development

  • Applicants should be either:

    • A current student member in

      • A documented histology training program (on the job training) or 

      • An academic accredited program

    • A current member in good standing for two years preparing for advanced certification/qualification examination to further their professional development/career

  • Submit an application with reference letters and a short scientific paper exploring an aspect of histology, publication ready for WHS newsletter, In Focus.


General Nomination Policy: Nominations for an award should be made to the chairperson of the Awards Committee via email. Nominations should be accompanied by a statement from the nominee or nominator with other supporting material, such as letters of recommendation from pathologist, supervisor, WHS officers or chairperson, or members of WHS. The Award Committee reserves the right not to make an award in any given year. The committee also reserves the right to give more than one award in any category or give an established award (that has not been applied for) to a working professional.
